Dear webmaster/webmanager colleague,
Now that the World Wide Web is becoming more and more important
to the worldwide nonprofit community and ever more nonprofits are
acquiring an online presence, we at the German Charities
Institute thought that it was time to start exchanging knowledge,
ideas and experience.
So we are happy to invite you to join webmanager@dsk.de, a new
listserv that has opened today for all those responsible for
managing and developing nonprofit Websites. This includes
nonprofit staff and volunteers, and the staff of agencies which
run nonprofits' Web sites. It is available not only to those
responsible for the technical aspects of nonprofits' Websites but
also to those responsible for managing or editing them, or for
using them for publishing, fundraising, PR and campaigning
purposes.
We hope you will take part in this forum and share your expertise
and experience in Web design and CGI-programming etc for
nonprofits and in the practical application of nonprofits' Web
sites in Internet fundraising appeals, campaigning, PR and
publishing activities etc.
The Webmanager list is run by Christoph Brocks, MD and
webmaster/-manager of German Charities Institute
(http://www.dsk.de), and Howard Lake, Director and
webmaster/-manager of Fundraising UK Ltd
(http://www.fundraising.co.uk).
To join the forum, send an e-mail message with the subject
"subscribe" to webmanager-request@dsk.de. To leave it send an
e-mail message with the subject "unsubscribe" to the same
administration address. As soon as you have subscribed you will
receive a confirmation message and you may post to the forum at webmanager@dsk.de.
The forum is unmoderated and is restricted only in that
attachments are not welcome since they result in unwanted heavy
traffic on this list. If you wish to share files you should place
them for download on your Webserver. Commercial advertising is
not encouraged either, although commercial participators may post
brief and relevant responses to appropriate queries.
The main language of the list will be English but contributions
in other languages will be accepted.
So, go ahead and subscribe - and please let others know by
forwarding this message.
