(free) Database management system for non-profits

From a recent post:

***Database management system being offered to nonprofits free of charge

Desktop Assistance, a not-for-profit group dedicated to providing other
nonprofits with technology products and services, is providing nonprofit
groups a free database management software package.

The software package, called ebase http://www.ebase.org, contains
software to manage Internet communications and a database that can manage
information about individuals and households, the company says. Windows and
Macintosh versions are available and can be downloaded from the company's
Web site.

The ebase software is based on FileMaker Pro 4.0, but FileMaker Pro is not
required to run ebase, the company says.

The minimum PC system requirements are a 486/33 Intel-compatible chip with
8 megabytes of RAM running Windows 3.1 or higher. The minimum Macintosh
system requirements are a Mac, Power Mac or compatible system with at least
4 megabytes of RAM running OS 7.1 or later.

Ebase development was made possible with support from a number of
organizations, including FileMaker Inc., Wilburforce Foundation, Brainerd
Foundation, Surdna Foundation, REI Foundation, Bullitt Foundation,
Northwest Fund for the Environment, Rockefeller Family Fund, Beldon Fund,
Nathan Cummings Foundation and the Educational Foundation of America.
