Gary Hattie - "The ....otomy"

Gary Hattie lives in Selkirk, a town about 30 miles south of Edinburgh, I was born in Glasgow in 1964. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease when I was 29 years old. I worked as a manager for Iceland Frozen Foods for 14 years, in 1998 I was given early retirement, from my job due to the progression of the Parky, I am now Co-ordiantor for YAPP&R's in Scotland. In 1996 I had an operation called a Thalamotomy, this is my account of what it was like and what I went through at the time, I decided to write it for the simple reason that there was nobody out there to talk to me about the operation, which I would have found very helpful at the time.Hopefully this account of events leading up to, during and after the operation, will benefit somebody.
