Some of the Parkinson's Domain Names registered on the Internet
Many groups are applying for Parkinson's Disease related domain names. At Domain Atlas you can see a list of all the domain names from around the world which contain the world "parkinsons". This won't find all the Parkinson's-related domain names around, but it is interesting.
Here are the more interesting ones:
- parkinsons.org.uk is held by the Parkinson's Disease Society. . I originally registered this in 1996, and assigned it to the PDS in 2000 when they got their own Internet connection. As well as the PDS web site and email addresses, number of services are under this domain.
- parkinsons.co.uk really is a company, C.F.Parkinson Ltd
- parkinsons-disease.co.uk links to a generic site run by Info-Med UK Limited, who seem to be a software house specialising in the pharmaceutical industry
- parkinsons-disease-society.org.uk is too long to get information for (!) but I think is used by the Parkinson's Disease Society of the UK for their Demon account. There's no web site there.
- parkinsonsdisease.co.uk is unused, but registered for an organisation called "Medsites" who I suspect aren't actually doing anything with it, although they may have plans. The web site http://www.medsites.co.uk/ points to a generic "This domain has been registered but not used" page. I'd check with Companies House, but their search service rediculously only works on weekdays.
- parkinsonsdiseaseinfo.co.uk is unused but registered for Vistula Holdings Ltd
- parkinsons.com.cn I don't know what this is, may just be a commercial company
- parkinsons.co.za is the Parkinson's Disease Association of South Africa
- parkinsons.org.nz is Parkinson's New Zealand
- parkinsons-qld.org.au is for Parkinson's Queensland, Austrailia
- parkinsons-vic.org.au is Parkinson's Victoria, Austrailia
